Have you made an arrangement with an owner that you want to record on his/her debtors account and want to follow up on a certain date. NOTES is the way to do this. NOTES can be categorized into topics and can be used in all segments of the system – buildings, units, entities and debtors.
This morning on my way to work I noticed a well dressed beautiful young lady who just finish eating a packet of chips and threw the packet on the ground without thinking twice about what she just did. And nobody around her seemed to mind either. So I decided to write about how people react to being “earth friendly”.
I googled “how people respond to saving the planet” and came across a very interesting article by Ivo Vegter and what he thought about earth hour. In this article he tells us about how useless he thinks it is and how a lot of people are only friendly to the earth during that one hour each year. When you think about it really hard you will realize that he was right. He then asked the big question, will earth hour change the climate, the way people think or public policy?
Yes, we do save thousands of watts during that one hour but after that we go back to our lazy-ignorant-non-recycling-selfish-wasteful beings we truly are. The same people that had their lights out for an hour have not recycled a single item, be it paper, glass or plastic. These same people have created more than 10 new landfills and these same people carried on with their daily dumping of toxic waste in the rivers, lakes and seas that they where trying to save during that one hour of darkness. What we do not realize is that in order to actually save the planet, we need to change our attitudes. if we all held on to that empty packet of chips for a couple of minutes longer, or if we had little trash bags in our cars that we emptied every time we saw a dustbin or maybe even decided to walk to the shop that is just around the corner, I am confident that we will be doing our planet some justice. the government need to in force more laws on individuals towards littering and not only on companies, I am sure they are familiar with the fact that places that are polluted have higher crime rates and lower tourist attraction rate. Yet they, in my opinion, turn a blind eye.
Until people realize that the little cigarette bud or piece of paper they just threw will contribute to a cleaner and longer lasting planet, and the government in forces some laws, we will still be faced with a global warming issue. I do not know about you but I will keep my piece of paper and walk to the shop every now and then, it is the least I can do to help my future great grand kids so they do not live in a dying planet.
If you are looking to learn something completely new and useless so your lunchroom topics can liven up everybody’s day or you just want to pass time on a lovely Sunday afternoon.
I found, an equally, fascinating and useless site that list facts that one can live with out yet learns from them. These facts range from science and entertainment to history and religion. I have put together my an article with my favorite list from each category that I find to be the most fascinating and useless. Feel free to follow the links or visit the website and discover things you do not REALLY have to know.

An exhausted looking blond dragged himself in to the doctor’s office. “Doctor, there are dogs all over my neighborhood. They bark all day and all night, and I can’t get a wink of sleep.”
“I have good news for you,” the doctor answered, rummaging through a drawer full of sample medications. “Here are some new sleeping pills that work like a dream. A few of these and your trouble will be over.”
“Great,” the blond answered, “I’ll try anything. Let’s give it a shot.”
A few weeks later the blond returned, looking worse than ever. “Doc, your plan is no good. I’m more tired than before!”
“I don’t understand how that could be”, said the doctor, shaking his head. “Those are the strongest pills on the market!”
“That may be true,” answered the blond wearily, “but I’m still up all night chasing those dogs and when I finally catch one it’s hard getting him to swallow the pill!”
Two elderly women were out driving in a large car – both could barely
see over the dashboard. As they were cruising along, they came to an
intersection. The lights were red, but they just went on through.
The woman in the passenger seat thought to herself “I must be losing it.
I could have sworn we just went through a red
light.” After a few more minutes they came to another intersection
and the light was red again. Again, they went right through. The woman
in the passenger seat was almost sure that the light had been red but was
really concerned that she was losing it.
She was getting nervous. At the next intersection, sure enough, the
light was red and they went on through. So, she turned to the other woman
and said, “Mildred, did you know that we just ran through three red lights
in a row? You could have killed us both!”
Mildred turned to her and said, “Oh! Am I driving?”
Three Blondes were driving to Disneyland. After being in the car for 4
hours they finally saw a sign that said “Disneyland left”
so they turned around and went home.
The most common container in the soft drink market today in South Africa is the plastic bottle – the PET bottles. PET is the type of plastic resin, a form of polyester labeled with the #1 code on or near the bottom of bottles and containers. These bottles are recognizable as the transparent, rigid container used to package bottled water, carbonated soft drinks (CSD’s), sports drinks, water, household cleaners and food trays. It is a popular package for food and non-food products.
Here are some reasons why one should recycle their PET bottles;
The more we’re able to recycle PET plastic bottles, the more jobs can be created in the
waste management, product development, manufacturing and marketing sectors. PET plastic bottles are widely used, abundant and highly visible. They’re also very bulky.
So there’s massive potential to remove a significant amount of volume from the waste stream
Recycling 1 ton of PET plastic bottles saves 1.5 tons of carbon and, in addition to saving
the energy needed to make a virgin PET bottle, it also decreases the need for raw materials
Landfill costs are set to increase rapidly over the coming years. But recycling reduces
landfill requirements, cutting disposal costs and increasing the life of landfill sites
People live, work and play in the digital world, that is why a lot of people see social media as a tool through which companies can build trust with consumers. Lines of communication from the company to the consumer and the consumer to the company need to be kept open so that information from both parties is exchanged. Switching off social media interactions, in order to attempt to stop people from commenting and leaving their opinion of your product/service means you lose out because now you do not know what your consumers want from you. A third of the world communicates online, let it be by email or social networks, and another third is most likely to join in the next 10 years. While many small businesses may not have the budget for huge media and marketing campaigns, many will be successful through the use of social media. The trick is to be agile, clever and authentic, creating as many brand ambassadors as possible.
Johannesburg can be recognized as one of the busiest cities in the whole of South Africa that has a reputation for its sky scrapers, noisy streets, bright lights and populated sidewalks. One would think that all the animals, birds, trees and flowers where never assigned to this part of the world and will travel for hours to foreign provinces and country to find natures tranquility. What they do not know is that our great province has more to offer than its man-made jungle that has eliminated all of mother natures creations. What people do not know is that there are places in and around Johannesburg that offer nothing but peace and quite, you no longer have to travel for hours to find Mother Nature in Johannesburg. Here are a few places that are situated in Johannesburg and still offer you time with Mother Nature.

Trident has got exciting features that will benefit you all the time, features such as date reminder. Unlike a diary which reminds you on the day of the event, date reminder can be set up to remind you of the different dates with different reminder parameters, e.g. Lease End Date can be set to start warning you every day , starting 40 days before due date. Maybe you would like to wish each of your owners a happy birthday – date reminder could de set up to remind you 1, 2 or 3 days before the date.
Reason 1: Every metric ton of paper recycled saves 17 trees and uses 40 percent less energy, and 50 percent less water. If all household paper/cardboard were recycled, 750 000 cubic metres of landfill space would be saved a year, saving local authorities R60-million a year in collection and landfill costs. The energy saved from paper recycling in a year is sufficient to provide electricity to 512 homes for a year.
Reason 2: Glass is 100 percent recyclable but it does not biodegrade. The raw materials for glass – sand, soda and lime – all have to be dug from the earth and melted together at very high temperatures. Energy is saved by recycling. The energy saved from recycling just one bottle will power a 100-watt light bulb for almost an hour. Every ton of glass recycled also saves 1,2 tons of raw materials.
Reason 3: Cans are 100 percent recyclable. They are melted down to make new steel. This reduces the need to mine new iron ore and saves on the energy used to mine and process it. More than 36 000 tons of high-grade steel is recovered for re-smelting a year.
Reason 4: A total of 562-million PET bottles were recovered for recycling in 2007 alone. This removed 19 000 tons of plastic from landfill, but that was only 24 percent of the PET bottles made that year. Recycling a ton of PET containers saves 6.2 cubic metres of landfill space. And 19 x 500ml PET bottles can be recycled into enough fibre filling for a standard pillow.
4 questions to ask a seller before buying a house/flat.
• How much did the seller pay before? -If the seller paid less than what they are offering, then they probably remodeled the house and did a lot of fixing on the house. And if they paid more than what they are offering then the house has probably got one or more faults in it or that the neighborhood has depreciated (not inviting/safe).
• How much does the seller owe? – some people sell their homes without telling the buyer about any outstanding payments such as water and electricity. Leaving the new owner with a lot of sorting out to do.
• How many offers has the seller got? – you are most likely to get a lie for an answer but you need to ask anyway. Just because the house did not get a lot of offers does not necessarily mean there is something wrong with the house (people have different tastes after all) it just means you have to look in to it some more.
• How long has the house been on the market? – if the a house has been on the market for a long time and is being sold at a reasonable price then I suggest hat you also do not rush into buying it just as yet.
• How much has similar homes in the neighborhood sold for? – this will give you an idea of weather or not you are being ripped of or given a bargain.
